HPM 216 Susan R. Klenk Learning Assistants Named

HPM junior Cindy Lin (who is also minoring in Asian/American Studies) and sophomore Kathryn Wickham have been named the Susan R. Klenk Learning Assistants for HPM 216—Restaurant Operations.

“The learning assistant position allows a student to take a leadership role, provide support for classmates, and gain valuable management experience,” notes Susan Klenk, a graduate of the College of Human Development’s early childhood studies program (which has evolved into programs available today in the Falk College’s Department of Child and Family Studies).

While a student here, Klenk was also a dual major in the School of Education. Her career with the Syracuse City School District always revolved around supporting students to help them be successful, a commitment she has continued at her alma mater.

In HPM 216, which is required for hospitality and nutrition students, students focus on management principles, concepts and application of food preparation. The course also covers menu and event planning, production control and budgeting.
