Public Health, MS (Not currently admitting)
The 150-credit accelerated B.S./M.S. Public Health program is designed to provide you with the opportunity to complete a bachelor degree and master degree in Public Health in five years, as opposed to six. The program substitutes 15 credits of graduate public health coursework for 6 credits of similar undergraduate public health coursework plus 9 credits of general elective. You will complete an internship experience in your 4th year and a master’s thesis in your 5th year. At the undergraduate level, you have an opportunity to choose a concentration:
- Addiction Prevention,
- Community Health Education,
- Health and Society,
- Healthcare Administration.
At the graduate level, you choose a second concentration in either:
- Global Health,
- Health Data Analytics.

Getting Admitted
Students may declare their intent to follow the program during the fourth semester of study for students who entered Syracuse University as freshman public health majors. Internal and external transfer students interested in the dual degree program must meet with the program directors to determine if prior coursework is applicable and if the program can be completed within the 5-year time period. During the fall of year 4, students complete the application for formal entry to the graduate program. A personal statement and three letters of recommendation are required.
