Class of 2020 Commencement Celebration Weekend

Sept. 17: “Welcome Home” Reception

6:30 – 9:00 p.m. | Quad

As you and your families arrive in Syracuse for the weekend, you’re invited to join us for a class of 2020 “welcome home” and welcome to Generation Orange reception. Enjoy a festive celebration on the Quad underneath a large tent with music, food and a toast to your most-deserving class. Reconnect with friends and classmates, and pick up where you left off! Kevin Richardson of the Exonerated Five, a 2020 honorary degree recipient, will attend as our guest of honor.

Sept. 18: Reunion Celebration and Tailgate

9:30 – 11:30 a.m. | Schine Student Center

We’re recognizing the Class of 2020 in the way you deserve to be recognized, after a very challenging year and a half! Let’s celebrate your accomplishments and resilience in a fun, spirited tailgate environment. 2020 graduates, along with your families, can catch up with one another prior to the game while enjoying delicious tailgate fare, giveaways, and fun photo opportunities in our popular photo booth. 2020 graduates will also take a class photo. The class will also be asked to share the names of faculty and staff members who have made a significant impact on their time at Syracuse so we may invite them on the class’s behalf.

Sept. 18: Syracuse vs. Albany Football Game

12:00 p.m. | Stadium

Discounted tickets will be available.

Sept. 19: Commencement Ceremony

10:00 a.m. | Stadium

Commencement is the University-wide ceremony for all undergraduate, graduate and doctoral candidates. Syracuse University Chancellor and President Kent Syverud will formally confer degrees at the Commencement ceremony. Doors open at 8:00 a.m.

Sept 19: Falk College Celebration

1:00 p.m. | Grant Auditorium

Following Commencement, at 1 p.m. in Grant Auditorium, all 2020 Falk College graduates and their families are invited to join Dean Diane Murphy and the faculty and staff for a celebratory reception. The event will include a dean’s welcome, recognition of participating graduates and an opportunity to reconnect with faculty.
