People are the center of our work here in Falk College, and the students who pursue the fields of study in Falk are some of the most high-achieving, empathetic, courageous people. I am confident that they will achieve their vision for healthier, stronger communities. Reflecting on 2019, there are countless demonstrations of their commitment and ability. These examples make me most proud to be Dean of Falk College. I look forward to many more in 2020.

Student research explores right to food violations for transgender youth

Falk hosts culinary demonstration with the Iroquois White Corn Project

Nutrition and Food Studies hosted a culinary demonstration and tasting with the Iroquois White Corn Project, which aims to bring Iroquois White Corn back as a staple of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) diet through the production of hand grown, picked, and processed products from heirloom seeds dating back at least 1,400 years in Haudenosaunee communities. Students win Invent@SU with water filter designed for developing countries

Economics student Nikita Chatterjee ’20 and public health student Brianna Howard ’20 designed and built a prototype for an invention combining a traditional sari with advanced water filters built in.
