On Friday, October 23, Falk College Dean, Diane Lyden Murphy, along with students, faculty, and staff, will lead a special dedication ceremony to commemorate the opening of the new home of the David B. SU sophomore readjusts to campus life after 2 years with Republic of Korea Army

  Chang Hwan Oh was not good at yelling at people. He’s soft-spoken with a calm demeanor. But when he was selected as a drill instructor for the Republic of Korea Army, he didn’t have much of a choice. “I couldn’t yell at people, but in the army I had to. That was something I’d never done, but later I got used to it,” Oh said. Oh is a 22-year-old second-year student at Syracuse University. Meet Max Levitt, SPM ‘11, executive director of Leveling the Playing Field

Three years ago, Sport Management graduate Max Levitt ’11 founded a nonprofit called Leveling the Playing Field, whose mission is to improve the opportunity for low-income families to get involved in youth sports through the donation of used/excess sporting equipment. While a student at SU, Levitt spent three seasons as an equipment manager with the Syracuse University football program, and said he inspired to research how to get used sporting equipment into the hands of underprivileged children and low-income families. “Every day, I communicate with various sources of donated sporting equipment from collegiate athletic departments, youth sports leagues, and families,”…

Falk College will celebrate the Class of 2015 and its accomplishments on Saturday, May 9 at 4:00 p.m., Manley Field House. 2015 Syracuse Sport Summit to take place on April 30 at Drumlins Country Club

The Syracuse Sports Corporation, along with the graduate students in the Sport Venue & Event Management Program at Syracuse University’s Falk College, will host the 2015 Syracuse Sport Summit on Thursday, April 30 beginning at 9 a.m. (check-in at 8 a.m.) at Drumlins Country Club, 800 Nottingham Road. The event aims to spark discussion about the integration of disabled citizens, particularly wounded military veterans, into the community through the use of adaptive sports.
