This study examines the distribution of racial/ethnic equity, social vulnerabilities, and environmental justice throughout the New York State wastewater surveillance network (the network). We will conduct a racial equity impact assessment (REIA) and develop a community advisory board (CAB) to inform future wastewater surveillance efforts and resource allocation by state and local health departments (LHDs) in New York State. This project will have a direct effect on the spatial coverage of wastewater surveillance in New York State with implications on equity and policy that will reflect any current or potential inequities and provide a path toward maximizing equitable impacts and inclusion.
