Joseph P. Fanelli

Dr. Fanelli had been a part of the Senior faculty at Syracuse University since 1984 until becoming Emeritus in 2020. He has taught courses in human sexuality and relationships to over 47,000 students. After 30 years of service, he also retired from the Catholic Charities of Onondaga County in 2012 as the Director of Mental Health Services. Dr. Fanelli continues to work as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice, primarily treating couples who are experiencing relational conflict or sexual dysfunctions. He has conducted hundreds of workshops in the areas of human sexuality, marriage and family life, stress and wellness, and the healing power of laughter. He has been married for 43 years and has 3 sons and 2 granddaughters.
