Brandon Hollie

Assistant Teaching Professor

Brandon Hollie (he/him/his) joined the Department of Marriage and Family Therapy in fall 2024 as an online Assistant Teaching Professor. He will primarily teach classes related to theories of Marriage and Family Therapy.

Currently, Hollie is the Owner/CEO of Hollie Therapy and Counseling and a researcher at Mathematica Policy Research. Prior to Mathematica, he was a postdoctoral research scholar with the Family Institute at Northwestern University.

Hollie’s research focuses on the impact of poverty and neighborhood disadvantage on mental health and relationships, and evaluating Healthy Marriage and Relationship Education programs. He has published in scholarly journals such as “Contemporary Family Therapy” and worked with federal clients such as the Department of Labor, Department of Justice, and Administration for Children and Families.

Hollie is a two-time recipient of the SAMSHA Minority-Fellowship Program. He was also a Doctoral Prize winner from Falk College in 2021. He served on the Chancellor’s Council on Diversity and Inclusion at Syracuse University from 2019-2021.

Hollie earned an MBA from the University of Iowa in 2022, Ph.D. in 2021 from Syracuse University, M.A. in 2017 from Mount Mercy University, and B.A. in 2014 from the University of Iowa.
