Sarah Costello ’13 Named 2012-13 Remembrance Scholar

Sport management and psychology double major Sarah Costello was named a Remembrance Scholar for 2012-13. The Remembrance Scholarships, among the most prestigious scholarships awarded by Syracuse University, were founded as a tribute to the 270 people, including 35 students studying abroad through Syracuse University, who were killed in the Dec. 21, 1988, bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland. The scholarships are funded through an endowment supported by gifts from alumni, friends, parents and corporations.

Costello, from Haverhill, MA, previously served as vice president of SU’s collegiate chapter of Women in Sports and Events (WISE) and continues her current membership in this student organization. She is also a member of the Sport Management Club. “I am very excited to be representing the Falk College and the Sport Management program as a 2012-2013 Remembrance Scholar,” says Costello. “I am honored to have received this scholarship and I will work diligently as a Remembrance Scholar to ensure I represent this program in the best possible light!”
