Event purposefully connects event management coursework, experiential learning, social responsibility The Sport Venue and Event Management Graduate Program in Falk College is hosting a charity golf tournament to benefit Vera House on May 9 at Timber Banks Golf Club in Baldwinsville, NY beginning at 12:30 p.m. Monies raised will support Vera House’s comprehensive domestic and sexual violence programs. For the second straight year, members of the Syracuse University Baseball Statistics and Sabermetrics Club participated in the Diamond Dollars Case Competition in Phoenix, Arizona, over Spring Break. The Sport Management (SPM) Club at Syracuse University has raised $40,470 for The Salvation Army at its 11th Annual Charity Sports Auction. During the SU men’s basketball game on December 2, supporters placed bids on hundreds of items, including sports memorabilia, electronics and tickets to major sporting events. Following the silent auction, the club also hosted an online auction, in collaboration with Steiner Sports Memorabilia, which showcased a number of premium items up for bid.
