The Nutrition Education & Promotion Association (NEPA)
NEPA is a student run association that brings together Syracuse University students who are interested in nutrition and encourages them to share that interest with the surrounding campus and community. Each year, NEPA sponsors a well-known speaker to visit the Syracuse University campus and lecture on nutrition and a healthy life-style. Those speakers have included Nancy Clark, internationally known sports nutritionist and nutrition author and Cynthia Sass, nationally known nutrition and health expert and graduate of Syracuse University.
NEPA is involved in many on and off campus community service activities. The club meets once a month to plan those events and other activities. For more information, contact the NEPA faulty advisor, Jane Uzcategui, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
ORANGE WRAP was created in the fall of 2005 as part of the Healthy Campus Initiative as a way to provide nutrition education to students across campus. ORANGE WRAP educators are junior, senior and graduate nutrition majors who are selected, trained and supervised by a Registered Dietitian. Their mission is to promote pleasurable and in-tune eating, the adoption of nutrition guidelines for good health, and the prevention of eating disorders. They provide a non-diet approach to nutrition and wellness on campus.
