Our Approach
Falk Career Services utilizes a developmental approach to teaching and assisting students in navigating the career search process and developing their post-graduation plans. Our support to students centers on coaching good decision making and habits that will enable success in the first post-graduation destination and beyond.
Services
Falk promotes skill development within three primary domains:
Explore interests and gain experience:
- Self-reflect and work with an advisor to learn more about yourself
- Link your interests, values, and skills with possible career fields
- Seek opportunities to volunteer, job shadow, complete an internship, or conduct informational interviews
Develop professional skills:
- Writing strong resumes, cover letters, and personal statements
- Building soft skills for interviews and networking events
- Grow your knowledge, skillsets, and abilities specific to your career field
Launch your career:
- Review job descriptions and research employers or graduate school programs
- Utilize Handshake, LinkedIn, and other online platforms to search for jobs and expand your network
- Establish your professional identity at networking events by effectively communicating your interests, knowledge, and abilities
