Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about the Syracuse University Dietetic Internship

Do you have an open house?
Our program does not have an open house. However, we welcome interested candidates to contact the Dietetic Internship Director (nmbeckwi@syr.edu) to arrange for an individual appointment and tour. We also participate in the virtual supervised practice fair coordinated each fall by the Academy of Nutrition Dietetics NDEP group.

What is your program concentration?
Under the 2022 ACEND Accreditation Standards for Nutrition and Dietetics Internship Programs, concentrations are no longer required. For the 2022-23 academic year, we have discontinued our program concentration. This provides us the opportunity to introduce a new course called NSD 635 Nutrition Leadership and Management. This course meets the new competency requirements focused on special skills, such as leadership self-assessment and development, conflict resolution and professional advocacy.

Do you have an early application submission date?
No, the submission date follows the standard DICAS/D&D Digital dates.

Are there supplemental documents for an application to Syracuse University Dietetic Internship?

No, we do not pre-select any interns for this program.

No, if you are matched to the Dietetic Internship you will be enrolled as a graduate student.

What can I expect after submitting my application through DICAS?

Do you have scholarships available?
