The David B. Falk College of Sport and Human Dynamics and its Research Center support continuous learning and quality improvement in all endeavors, including faculty research. The Research Center has initiated a seminar series where college faculty, faculty from the larger SU campus, and visiting scholars can share their research experiences, study findings, and advice about successful grant submissions with interested college faculty.

The Research Center has responsibility for coordinating faculty retreats, which provide a forum for updates on research efforts, especially those supported by the College such as reports on seed grant awards, faculty research leaves, and departmental research and scholarship activities. A list of forthcoming and previous seminars and faculty retreats can be found on the College’s seminar and faculty retreat web pages.

In addition, the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) has very useful information on proposal preparation, including tools for budget preparation and aids for proposal writing. OSP also regularly hosts workshops and training sessions that faculty can attend to learn about strategies to obtain support for research and scholarship as well as issues pertaining to research policies and regulations.

Review OSP’s resources on workshops, training and education, which provide useful PowerPoint presentations from previous workshops on topics such as funding opportunities and proposal preparation (including budgets, graduate student support, human subjects, and regulatory compliance).
